CTC Aviation Group plc announced that its next generation B737 NG full-flight simulator from Rockwell Collins – the first of its kind in the world from the avionics company - has been awarded JAR-FSTD A Level D, Zero Flight Time certification by the UK Civil Aviation Authority at the first attempt.

World leaders in full service aviation support, CTC Aviation Group plc accepted delivery of the B737B737-CTC

“This certification of our full-flight simulator called EdgeTMmarks an important step forward in delivering the new capabilities of our CORETM simulation architecture,” said Ken Schreder, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins. “The flexibility and adaptability of this new system, combined with our industry-leading visuals and superior service and support, will deliver an unprecedented training experience to CTC Aviation and its customers.”

Captain Martin Hunt, Head of Operations of CTC Aviation Services Limited commented “The newest addition to our training centre is a real testament to the strong bond between Rockwell Collins and CTC. Together we have certified a world leading training device which combines the highest levels of fidelity with an intuitive instructor interface to deliver a first class training experience to the pilot”

Designed from the user and maintainer’s point of view, the advanced CORETM simulation architecture features common open reusable elements including scalable software adaptable for multiple training devices, integrated tool sets and Rockwell Collins’ industry leading display and image generation technology. The highly configurable, modular design is a new approach to the future of simulation, providing long term, cost effective solutions to legacy issues of accommodating upgrades and fleet changes.
